About Linda Thompson

I was born in Washington, D. C. and grew up in the Maryland suburbs. Growing up near the Nation’s Capital and in the heart of the original thirteen colonies, I have a passion for all things historical.  My first love, at the age of five, was ballet.  For the next thirteen plus years, I ate, slept, and breathed dance classes.  Being raised on the East Coast, I love the ocean!  To me, there is no more soothing sound in the world than the kiss of the surf as it reaches the sand.

I became an avid reader riding the bus to junior high—15 miles each way.  My love of all things Regency began during that time when I read my first Regency novel, The Scapegrace, by Sylvia Thorpe.  At fourteen I was introduced to Gone with the Wind and Pride and Prejudice, which quickly became my favorite books.  I read historical novels, mysteries, and biographies almost exclusively.  It takes an extremely talented author or a really good modern JAFF plot to bring my reading out of the past.

When not engrossed in a good book, I love to bake, cook, and scrapbook, though writing JAFF stories is rapidly moving to the top of the list.  My guilty pleasure is buying bunches of tulips for my table when they are in season.

I currently make my home in Denton, Texas.  I have been married to my wonderful husband, Jim, for 27 years, and have had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom for my three children, Andrew (19), Megan (17), and Katie (15).

It was thoughts of returning to work or finding another source of income to help pay for my children’s college educations that encouraged me to begin writing.  Writing is a dream come true for me!

If you would like to contact me, you can, of course, leave a comment here, or you can send me an email at lindathompson.author@gmail.com.

NOTE:  The picture accompanying this post is my cabinet of JAFF books.  Unfortunately it is full so I am looking for another similar piece to house the rest of my collection.

  1. Just read both books back to back this weekend. Both were so enjoyable and left me wanting more. I especially loved the mary and Colonel fitzwilliam thread. Hope to see more of them in the next instalment. Hoping the book will be out soon????

    1. I am so glad you enjoyed the books! It will probably be the end of the year before the third volume is available. However, There should be a new book–one that is not part of the series–available late September or early October. This story has been rather forceful in wishing to be written. It is a rather unique idea and I hope you will enjoy it while you wait for volume three!

    1. I am working on it! I had hoped to publish at the end of the month, but have encountered several difficulties in regular life that will delay the publication. I will try very hard to have it readied for the end of February, but will definitely keep you posted on my blog.

      Happy reading!
